The Apple Maps Client team is looking for a passionate and self-motivated Software Integrity Performance Engineer who will work closely with development and test engineering teams across Apple, for upholding performance quality of Apple Maps features across iOS, watchOS, macOS and VisionOS. Description

Our team embraces a diverse set of responsibilities which includes improving current testing infrastructure and tools to evaluate power, performance and memory impact of Maps App. You will work closely with the development and QA teams to understand Maps legacy and new features, understand performance test methodology, implement tests and analyze data, triage regressions and communicate results to partners. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys taking initiative and is comfortable working with multi-functional teams. Success on our team means you can quickly grasp & distill technical information to deliver clear, precise and detailed performance test plans.   • Have a strong interest in manual testing and be capable of implementing software integrity best practices in a testing environment
  • Obsession over the customer experience
  • Driven attitude, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile and dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Comfortable collaborating with all levels of engineering, product, and testing teams to help with new feature bring-up and performance validation
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills with an ability to identify, diagnose and debug issues thoroughly
  • Define performance test strategies for Maps across all Apple platforms. Complete test cases. report clear, concise, and actionable results/data to various technical and functional teams.
  • Triage automation results, report and advance issues appropriately to the different multi-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possess knowledge and real-world experience with software integrity and quality assurance concepts: test planning, test case definitions, and problem analysis
  • Familiarity with python or comparable programming language
  • Desire to learn new programming languages, frameworks and technologies
  • Familiarity with iOS, watchOS, macOS, visionOS
  • Knowledge of Splunk, Elastic-Search and building dashboards

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $97,344 and $188,100 annualized, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
